Journey to Minimalism: Part 2 | Bedroom

Journey to Minimalism: Part 2 | Bedroom

I was dreading this week. Cleaning out my closet is not fun and as much as I love getting rid of stuff, I really don’t enjoy getting rid of my clothes. I have built up a habit of doing this on a fairly regular (ish) basis so I’m getting better. If you have been following the journey since the… Read More

Journey To Minimalism: Part 1 | The Kitchen

Journey To Minimalism: Part 1 | The Kitchen

I recently had a moment with my life. It all started on Friday afternoon when I was doing the dishes. Now, normally dishes are uneventful. But not today. I was frustrated that I was doing tons of dishes every. single. day. (There are 3 people in my home). So of course, this sparked a thought. “Why the f*ck do… Read More

12 Binge Worthy Podcasts That Will Improve Your Life

I love a good podcast! They have become so engrained in my life that I listen to them when I’m cooking breakfast, getting ready for the day, and during the commute to work. On average, I consume about 6-10 hours per week soaking in information. Why I Listen To Podcasts A lot of people wonder why I would spend the… Read More

January 2018 Monthly Review

January 2018 Monthly Review

January was a crazy month with some pretty nice milestones in there. But despite hitting some really impressive milestones, I have to be honest- it didn’t make me feel more successful or happier. It was a good reminder that the journey is what matters most and if you aren’t enjoying the process, the milestones won’t make you happy. WHAT’S NEW… Read More

4 Gifts For The Person Who Works From Home

4 Gifts For The Person Who Works From Home

Did you know the average family plans to spend $929 on Christmas? Damn near $1,000! This is crazy to me. After all, it’s money spent on a holiday that is completely commercialized, has lost the real meaning, and turns us all into grouchy broke people. Bah-humbug. Scroogy-ness aside, it can be a wonderful time of year that doesn’t break the… Read More

4 Gifts For The Techy Gadget Lover

8 Traits of Happy People

This weekend, I looked around my house and realized that my house reflected exactly how I feel inside… chaotic. So I decided to rearrange my office and get rid of stuff. I *might* have enough money for a (unusable at the I *might* have enough money for a (unusable at the moment) ✈️ plane ticket for every time I have heard someone say they:

✖️Pay for a monthly service
✖️Bank at a specific financial institution
✖️Use a financial advisor
✖️Invest their money in a specific way

Or make any other financial decision solely because their parent told them to.

It’s not only okay, it’s healthy to make financial decisions based on what’s best for YOU.

And sometimes that means going against the grain of what works for your parents or friends.
Our phase 1 of the kitchen remodel includes:
✖️ installing a kitchen island
✖️painting the kitchen cabinets
✖️ replacing kitchen backsplash

We decided to save the money and NOT replace cabinets or countertops this year (since we are working on some real estate projects).

But there is a blog post live on WhitneyHansen.com with a full tutorial of how to paint your own kitchen cabinets... without sanding.

It was a 2/10 on the difficulty process and 10/10 on the transformation process.😍
