Okay, confession time…
I started The Money Nerds Podcast as a way of highlighting the cool things everyday people were doing to reach financial success.
I attend a conference every year, FinCon, and was so inspired to launch a podcast after meeting people at there. I met people who paid off $1 million in 2.5 years, a woman whose biggest goal for paying off debt was to see as many Elton John concerts as she could, and even people whose lives transformed as a result of a new budgeting strategy.
It was inspiring. I went home and recorded 16 episodes and then…. I SAT ON THEM FOR 1 YEAR! I got scared. Imposter syndrome kicked in and I was scurred.
Not my proudest moment. But alas, I did launch the podcast and it has more than doubled in downloads every single year. It’s been a fun ride!
Anyways- podcast story aside, I was looking at my analytics for 2019 and saw that these were the top 5 most downloaded podcast episodes.
*Most Downloaded*
1) Long Term Effects of Good Financial Habits | Diania Merriam
This episode with Diania was so good! She shared so many nuggets of wisdom in a very practical way. I appreciated her questions to ask yourself before making any purchases. It will really transform how you view purchases.
2) Investing While Paying Off Debt | Joseph Hogue
Joseph Hogue is an incredibly articulate person. He really brought it when he shared his sometimes unpopular opinion on deciding whether to pay off debt before investing. There was a really great conversation that stemmed from this on Instagram after. Give it a listen if you’ve been curious whether you should invest first or pay off debt first.
3) Actionable Tips To Better Your Money Mindset
The third most downloaded episode on The Money Nerds podcast was a solo episode that I did with tips to getting your money mindset on track and determine whether you are coming from a place of scarcity or abundance. The content was good I relaunched the episode this year.
4) Side Hustles: Launching a physical product business | Cody Berman
Most of us are always looking for ways to make a little extra income. This episode with Cody was inspiring, to say the least. He walks us through how he started a disc golf product company from scratch. It was really fun to learn his thought process and see how he’s doing it.
5) 5TF – Money Rules
5TF (Five Tip Friday) is a very popular segment on The Money Nerds where I share actionable, punchy tips to improving your life in less than 6 minutes. I wasn’t too surprised to see that this episode on 5 Money Rules to incorporate into your life was a most downloaded– most people LOVE hearing quick rules of thumb to live by.
There you have it! The top 5 most downloaded podcast episodes from The Money Nerds podcast.
