Christmas is a time to drink hot chocolate, take sleigh rides, drive around looking at lights, listen to “Santa Baby” on repeat, and spend time snuggling on the couch watching Christmas movies.
It’s a magical time of year!
Do you know what’s not so magical?Overspending on Christmas and ringing in the New Year with credit card debt and financial stress.
Let’s not do that.
To help you find some Christmas gifts that are truly budget friendly, here are six gifts that cost under $40 AND some of them help you do good in the world. I know how difficult it can be to decide what to buy for the people you love, that’s why I tried to make this list as diverse as possible.
Vivid Roots: $30
Not only are these shirts the bomb.com, when you make a purchase you are helping provide clean water to people in need and support a Boise, ID based startup. The shirts are comfortable, cute, and true to size. I’m a huge fan of Vivid Roots- they are kicking butt and taking names while inspiring others to #LiveVividly.

Pura Vida Bracelets: $5+
Pura Vida (pure life in Spanish) is another great company that I’m crushing on. These stackable bracelets, made in Costa Rica, are fashionable, inexpensive, and help do good in the world. Every bracelet purchased helps keep local Artisans in Costa Rica employed and Pura Vida gives a portion of their profits the help keep beaches clean.

Birchbox: $30 (3 month subscription)
Birchbox might be the greatest, most exciting thing to come in your mailbox- ever! What a great gift idea. Men’s and women’s boxes available. Every month you will receive 5-7 premium sample products directly in your mailbox. What started as learning about their business model quickly turned into pure excitement. And your gift will continue on for 3 months! Winning!

Scivation Xtend: $34
We all know the gym fanatic that is so hard to buy for. Seriously, you can only buy so much Nike. Give the gift of supplements. I love and have used Xtend for almost 7 years. Great for at the office to help you drink more water- calorie free, increase your gains at the gym and recover faster. Plus, Scivation helps support some really cool cancer research. Another company that helps make the world a better place.

Starbucks Thermos: $13-$20
Starbucks hit a home run this Christmas, teaming up with artists to help produce the coolest, most interesting thermos and mugs. I purchased one, and I have received so many compliments on it. It’s adorable and thankfully doesn’t have Santa and reindeers on it. A gift that can be truly used year round. Fist pump for Starbucks!

Gratitude Journal: $13
For the planners, goal-setters, journal-istas, and anyone who wants to be a bit more grateful for their life, this journal is perfect! It has little cues of topics to think about and provides plenty of writing space. Sidenote- I personally have this journal and adore it. It helps me start my day off in the right direction.
